Vanessa Fowler

Vanessa Fowler makes work and teaches from her small studio in St Leonards-On-Sea and is often influenced by the shapes of pebbles found on regular walks along the beach. Fowler works mainly in terracotta, forming functional pieces for the table with coloured slips and underglazes to enhance the work. She also enjoys working in Raku, which is a traditional Japanese technique fast glaze firing. She describes the making process as ‘a lifetime of learning and never ending influences from nature’.
