Gallery Hire Policy for 2025: 

We are now open to take submissions and enquiries to hire our gallery space for exhibitions and/or workshops

2 week hire: £600

(we encourage artists to hire for more than one week, these subsidised fees are reflective of this)

1 Week Hire: £458

4 Week Hire: £1100

Subsidies available to students and graduates on request

Weekend Hire £180 (Friday to Monday)

*If you wish to hire the gallery to host a workshop or event, cost per day is £120

• We particularly welcome enquiries from artists working locally, or artists who have not previously had a solo exhibition and therefore would benefit from the chance to exhibit their work publicly. 

• We also accept group proposals, particularly from students, graduates and emerging artists who would benefit from splitting the hire costs between them (we can also subsidise costs for students, get in touch to enquire) 

• If you are interested in hiring the gallery, please contact lorna123@theblackshedgallery.org.uk with some information about yourself, some images of work (when sending images of your work please limit to just a few at this stage), or link to a website and why you would like to hire the gallery space. 

What’s Offered:

1. Use of blackShed Gallery spaces (primarily two areas; main gallery, entrance lounge area) Floor Plan available on request

2. Private View event - staff and refreshments  a staffed and facilitated official ‘soft' launch day

3. Mailing list mail-out to over 2000 members

4. Social media coverage potentially reaching over 6000 followers across social media platforms (this is a combination of Instagram and Facebook) 

5. Page on gallery website and feature on the home page

6. Technical support and installation

7. Digital and audio equipment (we have 1 projector, headphones and 1 television monitor)

8. Curatorial and administrative support

9. Full gallery invigulation and sales management

10. Card machine payments taken or hire purchase terms on expensive pieces

11. Curatorial and administrative support

12. Post exhibition evaluation report 

13. Add On’s:

• Private View event - staff and refreshments £100

• Digital and audio equipment (we have 1 projector, headphones and 1 television monitor) £50 day rate (subject to availability and duration, subsidies available)
