Oska Lappin

Over-saturating her consciousness with literature, music and old movies, Oska Lappin is charged with an explosive energy that is unleashed in her studio as an outpouring of amassed information, fully digested and redacted to expose a narrative of overlapping tales, or conflicting ideas that manifest themes of devolution and secondary personas.

Lappin’s persistent disregard for a reality that attempts to stifle individuality and promotes conformity to social norms distinguishes her work in style and in process - her fascination with the Art Brut movement influences her attitude towards the creation of this work, employing "whatever is required to make the image" whilst pushing the medium of print beyond the standard academic conventions.
